Jasmine Tookes Shares Her Favorite Styling Tricks in Banana Republic's New Campaign
The key to off-duty model style? For Jasmine Tookes, it's fewer, better, and comfier. That's the methodology behind her personal wardrobe and a big part of why she was excited to be in Banana Republic's campaign for its latest Classics collection.
It's not the first time Tookes has worked with BR, and hopefully, it won't be the last. "The Banana Republic brand embodies a classic, understated elegance, even in the most casual pieces," she shared over the phone. "I've been wearing Banana for years for everything from weekends away to nights out."
Whether you're looking for upscale workwear or timeless outerwear, the classic American brand has prioritized quality craftsmanship and trendproof staples with gorgeous images wrapped up with model-approved styling tricks. Tookes is especially fond of the canvas dress look given a casual spin with an over-the-shoulder cardi and baseball hat.
The hero item of this collection is, undoubtedly, the suede trucker jacket. Originally a popular menswear item, this piece was modified for the women's category and is just as lovely and luxurious as it looks. Most suede items tend to fall in the special-occasion category, but this rugged yet refined piece is truly exceptional and thoughtfully crafted enough to wear every day. "The suede is buttery soft, and the color is so rich," she gushed. When asked about her favorite way to style this hero piece, Tookes suggested throwing it over a denim-on-denim look for spring and pairing it with a long dress and boots when fall comes back around.
When in doubt, though, Tookes reminds us to stick to the basics. She recently discovered the best white T-shirt at BR and has a similarly timeless gray cardigan from the brand that she wears with everything from airport attire to date-night looks.
